Flawed but enjoyable
Review by Arec Rain May 18, 2018
A story with an interesting premise, despite not being very original. Initially interested due to the heroine’s description, it became evident early on that the synopsis wasn’t joking about her being foul-mouthed. While some readers may not take issue with it, it can be too much for others. Despite this, the heroine remains funny and witty. That being said, the plot is difficult to believe. Many readers may get to a certain part and say “well that’s not how that works in the real world … Read More

Yummy in a kilt!
Review by books4me Mar 12, 2018
This is my first read by Anna but definitely not my last! I loved this...a modern, sexy Scotish man and a down to earth woman. Lachlan is visiting the states for 4 weeks, staying at a friends house. When his new next-door neighbor, Erica, mistakens him for someone else, he finds himself in a fun situation. Erica is living for the moment as her freedom will soon be gone. Lachlan and Erica decide on a 4-week exclusive relationship with NO personal talk. This leads to misunderstandings and confusion … Read More

A story that was a delicate dance.
Review by jeepwonder Jan 11, 2018
We each have our dark moments, and respond to them in our own ways. The author created characters with dark moments, dark sides to their personas. But instead of this being a tale about the descent into darkness she spun a tale about those characters learning to reach for life, to embrace life within the limits fate had placed on them. It was a delicate dance for the people within the book, and it was choreographed with finesse and style. The balance was done from a point of view that accepted … Read More

Shake Up Joyce Palmer
Review by Barj Dec 16, 2017
What a great read. I enjoyed this book from the first page to the last one. There is suspense, action, second chances, villains, shootouts ,I could not put this book down until I was finished it. It is Lacey Parker , Sheriff Jonathan Parker and Jay Lacey's partner in the DEA. This is actually like two stories in one, one is Lacey and Jonathan's part and the other is Lacey and Jay's where they are trying to bring a villain to justice. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing … Read More

People and pathways
Review by n1ght0wl Dec 28, 2017
I did not read 'Oscar' before reading this and it read well enough alone. Read much like a biography (think interview with a vampire without vampires or paranormals). Readers follow Oscar, an older man, whom is dating a man ten years his junior. The two are out dining together when Oscar makes a confession and suggestion. His lover excuses himself. In the time frame his lover is gone (there was an estimation of about 20mins); Oscar reminisces on his own behavior and actions when he was about his … Read More

Meeting the right person at the right time can change a person's course completely
Review by lacrimsonfemme Dec 27, 2017
For Oscar, he is sleeping this way through life with drugs, sex and alcohol. He embodies the negative stereotype of a gay man who is just in it for the sex - any hole will do. The thing is, Oscar can be so much more. This story starts out in the present with Oscar making a tentative offer to his lover to become an exclusive relationship living together. Or at least, not a long distance relationship with a booty call understanding. Oscar is a well traveled business man who is nervous about … Read More

Review by mistivelvet Nov 26, 2017
This hot and juicy read kept me enthralled for 400+ pages, which is quite a feat. The protagonist's dark and detailed background elucidates her motivation and complexity. The main characters are expertly constructed. They're complicated and believable, which makes for exciting sex scenes. After a rather slow start the narrative picks up the pace and maintains a nice rhythm. What I appreciate the most about this book is the unpredictability. I was definitely surprised by the twists and turns. Disclaimer: … Read More
