Summary
Recovering gambler Jim Rawlings works as a mid-level manager at one of the largest casino resorts in the country, La Bonne Chance Resort and Casino. Despite employee rules about gambling on site, temptation calls his name daily. After finding himself standing in front of poker table once too often, Jim decides he can’t stay in the casino, no matter how good the money is. He takes a drive around town and finds a down on its luck hotel for sale. It’s as if his prayers are answered. He must have it. Sous Chef Genie King is living her dream, working in one of the finest restaurants in the casino, if not the country. The only problem is the executive chef is a madman and she longs to have a place to call her own. When a frying pan nearly hits her head, Genie runs out of the kitchen and jumps into her car. She has no idea where she is going, but she can’t go back to that job. When she sees the aging mansion with the for sale sign, she knows she must have it. Jim takes the biggest chance of his life—bidding at auction for a once-grand inn. Genie never expects another LBC employee to bid at the sale—much less the guy she had a major crush on in high school. Working together means Jim must share long-hidden secrets. Will Genie reject the man with a past? Or will she love the man he's become?

Fast, Fun, and Satisfying Read
Oct 1, 2017
A broken down inn that only needs a loving touch to restore it to its former glory, a captivating couple, a villain to hate, and a fast-paced, delightful story kept me turning pages. The book drew the reader into this charming story beginning on page one with wonderful location descriptions, well-defined characters, and a tight plot. A solid 4 stars for this book. Looking forward to reading more of Ms. Buchbinder’s stories.

What a great surprise. This book was such a fun and fast read. The author does an amazing job making every thing flow together that it is read in one sitting. Jim and Genie are thrown together because of necessity, they both have dreams that they are trying hard to fulfill but something or someone seems to always stand in their way. When they run into each other after all the years the may just realize dreams can change, or they were always meant to be how they become. Thank you Reading Alley and Read More

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this story. Genie and Jim are two of my favorite characters--on and off screen. I'm sorry you felt like somethings were missing. I've had others tell me this needs to be a full length novel. I will have to put that on my TO DO list. If you have time, I'd love it if you would post your review on Amazon. Thanks again! Sharon
