An Alpha Wolf too wild for love… Having the rare ability to read minds won Sebastian no friends in a world full of secrets. Years of being shunned by the very people he’s sworn to protect only reinforces his bad attitude while he cultivates the deadly power of his wolf, keeping it barely contained most days. A collision with the sweet woman of his dreams tests his ability to be more than just the angry, brute Alpha Wolf people know him as. But as his nagging fight with the old Alpha heats up, and Sebastian’s own screw up threatens an important friendship, he aches to lash out more than ever. Jade’s animal abilities are the weakest in the family, so most days she can thankfully ignore that hated part of her existence. But after crashing into Sebastian, the most powerful, terrifying, and sexy shifter in Atlanta, her jaguar is awake in every good and horrible way, whether she likes it or not…

Recommended for paranormal romance lovers who enjoy anti-heroes
Mar 30, 2016
Abandoned Darkness is the second book in the series and it is recommended to read the books in order. That being said, I did read this as a standalone. After a couple of chapters, I quickly caught up to the world, characters and the paranormal mythos. This book did start out very slow for me. The first third of the book moved at a snail's pace. Sebastian is the much trampled upon werewolf. Young, strong and gifted with the ability to read minds, he is the outcast from his pack. Ironically Read More

Better the second time around
Mar 30, 2016
Wow! Just...wow. The sequel in this series was proof that the Author isn't a one-hit! Sebastian is that bad boy women fear in public but want in private and Jade thinking she wants a "quiet, nice, shy guy" is wrecked when the two collide. A great follow up to an already awesome first in the series!

Forget everything you know about enlarged families...
Mar 20, 2016 (Edited Mar 20, 2016)
... in fact in Abandoned Darkness you will deal with a strange family, in which werevolves and vampires coexist pacefully in a symbiosis relationship. In the Familiy everyone has his role, duty and responsabilities and Sebastian the big alpha wolf knows all too well. He does not hesitate to use his reading mind power to protect his family, even if it makes him sick and it is the main reason to be despised and an outcast in his own pack. Everyone is frightened by Sebastian ability and keeps at large. Read More

An Alpha too wild for love
Aug 18, 2016
This is the second book in the A Forest of Darkness series, it can be read as a standalone but i believe its much more enjoyable if read in order. This book kinda starts slow for me till about a third or near middle of the book, where everything starts to pick up pace. You get introduced to new and interesting characters such as Torin, the former alpha who abused Sebastian, Jade the scardy-cat who hates being a shifter but is incredibly attracted to the most alpha shifter around the territory. Sebastian & Jade's engrossing story
Jul 26, 2016
Whew, there's is a lot going on in this one, lol. Sebastian is the alpha wolf but the wolf pack turned their backs on him as alpha so he doesn't trust them & considers his family to be vampires instead. Something is brewing....Anthony (Master Vampire) is a bit more odd this time around. All I can say is the plot thickens. This series is so in-depth & suspenseful that it grips you from the beginning, its like I want to know what's next but I don't want it to end, lol. Jade is very insecure Read More

Kate Wendley has done it again in Abandon Darkness.
Jun 27, 2016
Book 2 in this series by Kate Wendley kept me on the edge of my seat. I fell in love with Sebastian. The outsider all his life due to his special gift not only makes being Alpha difficult, but winning the heart of his mate even harder. Skittish Jade only knows a glimpse of what Sebastian's world involves but is that too much for her to handle? You will find yourself pulling for this odd couple. I received a copy of this book via Reading Alley in exchange for a honest review.

2nd book in the series
Jun 24, 2016
This is the 2nd book in the series and I think it was better than the first! I was given in this book by reading alley for an honest review. The plot of this story revolves around Sebastian, the alpha, and the relationship he wants to form with Jade, a weaker shifter. The two must overcome obstacles and feelings in order to make the relationship work. Sebastian had been outlasted by his pack and family and feels that nobody could love him due to the power he had been given. Jade really likes Read More

Beauty and the Beast
May 30, 2016 (Edited May 31, 2016)
Sebastian is THE Alpha wolf and due to being ostracized for his mind-reading ability can be a major jerk to other shifters. Jade is a very timid jaguar/human who does not really like being a shifter. However, unbeknownst to each other, both have had crushes on each other since childhood. The author has created an enjoyable story bringing these two into closer contact and ultimately a relationship while having them both deal with their fears about relationships and with who they are. Adding Read More

Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review. Highly entertaining! Loved this book which is the sequel to “Mastering Darkness”. This can be read independently. We are introduced to Jade, who is afraid of her own shadow/animal and Torin who wants to be alpha wolf but is not. Then there is Sebastian who is alpha wolf but is unsure of himself. The pack has turned their backs to him as Sebastian is gifted (or cursed) with being able to read minds. Sebastian falls Read More
